After a long time, I decided to build another car model. I actually started as a car modeler but inspiration for planes/tanks struck me and I kept that direction until now. As my comeback project I chose this sweet Aoshima kit. I searched for some pictures online and found this awesome
S13 which will be my main inspiration. I'll swap the kit supplied RB20 with a stronger and newer RB26 ( I have a metal version produced by a guy who used nickname GIONC on many car forums, I can't remember the company name). The only problem is that it one didn't come with a transmission, that's why I'm considering the resin Hobbydesign one. Anyways, here's what I've done so far.
Hope you like it, expect new updates soon.
Kind regards, Sven.
This will be fun. How have you found the quality of the kit? I gave the RX7 as I want to do Alan Moffats Bathurst version.
ReplyDeleteThe kit is very nice, you get an engine ( but it's not complete unfortunately, will post more on that in the next update). I think Aoshima kits are generally good, I don't like their D1 Drift cars line because they didn't do anything for the interiors. Apart from that I had no problems ( Have around 10 Aoshima kits).
ReplyDeleteThanks for looking, Sven.
Did you ever finish this S13? Since you used my car as inspiration, I was hoping to see what it looked like finished.
ReplyDeleteHello Toby, thanks a lot for your comment.
ReplyDeleteI've done some more stuff to the model since this update, but I guess my interior is a little different from the actual one as I didn't have enough reference pictures. I'm also having trouble with the engine bay as I can't figure what aftermarket parts were used in your car.
If you have time to send me some more pictures or info I'd be very grateful, you can contact me via svenharjacekmodels@gmail.com
Kind regards, Sven.
